In an effort to create awareness about bone marrow transplant and bone marrow donation, Ruby Hall clinic Pune is organizing a special function on bone marrow transplant survivors at cancer care centre, Ruby Hall, Pune on 1st september.
While addressing a press conference at Patrakar Bhavan on August 31 Dr Sanjay Pathare Medical Director Ruby Hall clinic said that the main aim behind organizing Bone Marrow Transplant survival day is to create awareness among people for bone marrow donation. “Ruby Hall has so far conducted more than 300 such transplants and we are happy to see smiling patients after they have gone through a lot of hardships.”, Pathare added. Eminent Hematologist Dr Vijay Ramanan said that very less peopleare aware about Bone Marrow transplantation and the change they canbring in patients life suffering from ailments like Thalassemia.
The BM transplant expunges the need of transfusions and iron therapies.Dr. Ramanan further added that the department for Bone Marrow transplant at ruby hall hospital, since its inception in July 2008 has excelled with various transplants.
