Paediatric department erects 'wall of kindness' at GVMCH

The department of paediatrics at the Government Vellore Medical College and Hospital (GVMCH) has followed in the footsteps of Institute of Child Health and Hospital for Children, Egmore by erecting an 'Anbu Suvar' or 'Wall of Kindness' to receive contributions that will help children admitted at the hospital.
Dr. E. Theranirajan, the head of department of paediatrics at GVMCH said that the initiative began with the dean, Dr. R Shantimalar inaugurating it and doctors and nurses from various departments donating clothes for the children. Dr. Theranirajan mentioned that the initiative has been launched to help children admitted to the department. Many parents, especially those whose kids are admitted as emergency care patients do not carry extra clothes for their children. This initiative could be extremely helpful to them. So far, other items like bedsheets, towels, and toys have been donated too. The department is also accepting stationery items like books and pencils as well.
