Mystery shrouded over the death of a 34-year-old medic at his working place, a popular nursing home at Matighara here created panic among the staff as well as inmates/patients, police said today.

Sujan Pradhan was found unconsious in a room of the nursing home and it was bolted from inside, the investigating police officials said. Later he died after shifted to ICCU. However, Tek Bahadur Pradhan, father of the medic, filed an FIR against the nursing home alleging negligence. Former defence official Tek Bahadur Pradhan, a resident of Melli in Sikkim, said his son was working with Neotia nursing home for past six years.

Investigation revealed that the medic even had worked until 2330 hours on Saturday before going into the common room of nursing home. Deputy police commissioner, Siliguri, Taas run Haldar said the medic probably committed suicide as a syringe and ampoule were found in the room. The body was sent for post mortem.
