The medical teaching body at Dr Rajinder Prasad Govt Medical college has expressed strong resentment against the government's move of posting and deputing professors of DRPGMC Tanda in different state medical colleges.

Resentment prevailed among the medical teacher fraternity of Dr Rajinder Prasad Govt Medical college against government's move for frequent posting and deputing of the professors and Associate professors of DRPGMC Tanda to different medical colleges of the state.
The Teachers Association of Medical College Tanda (TAMCOT) in a meeting recently held under the chairmanship of Dr RS Jaswal, the president of TAMCOT expressed resentment over the issue of frequent postings of doctors from Tanda medical college to other medical colleges of the state.

The meeting was attended by the faculty members of the medical college. Spokesman of TAMCOT Dr Sunil Raina told UNI on Sunday that in the meeting it was discussed that Tanda medical College was already reeling under staff shortage and barely managing to serve the patients and teach the students.“With the displacement of so many doctors the services to the patients and quality of teaching will be severely compromised”, said the doctors. TAMCOT said, “ This will not only be of disservice to population at large but also to MBBS and MD/MS students undergoing training at DRPGMC, Tanda”.

The TAMCOT puts on record the laudable efforts of the government of Himachal Pradesh to open new medical colleges, but apprehends that the manner of transfers undertaking to run these colleges may be at the cost of existing colleges and their patients. State government had transferred and posted 14 professors and Associate professors of a dozen departments of DRPGMC Tanda to Dr. R.K. Govt. Medical College Hamirpur on March 9, 2018. Earlier ten Professors, Associate and Assistant professors from five departments of DRPGMC Tanda were transferred and posted on February 12, 2018 to Jawahar Lal Nehru Govt. Medical College Chamba and all were posted back to DRPGMC Tanda within two weeks leaving the students and patients of Tanda medical college to suffer for these days.

A senior doctor said that that when government will adopt the same measures to face the MCI and get the colleges recognized at the cost of existing Medical colleges then what was the difference between the private medical college managements and the state governments. TAMCOT suggested that the age of retirement could be 58 years and the retired doctors can be reemployed in these new medical colleges. .
