Health teams detect 33 dengue cases in Jalandhar

Joint teams of Health department and the Municipal Corporation on August 27 detected 33 dengue larva cases in various localities of the city.
Four teams of anti-larva wing led by Sarwan Singh, Sarbjeet Singh, Gurwinder Singh Bajwa, Raj Kumar and others undertook the checking in Raj Nagar, Shaheed Babu Labh Singh Nagar, New Jawala Nagar and Gandhi Vanita Ashram. Of the 33 cases, 15 in Shaheed Babu Labh Singh Nagar, 13 in New Jawala Nagar and five cases were detected in Raj Nagar.
During the checking, the teams covered a population of 804, checked 208 houses, 105 waste containers and 81 desert coolers. The teams' members held a detailed interaction with the people during which they informed the people that these places could act as a breeding ground for the mosquitoes to spread diseases like dengue, malaria, and others. They said that this drive is a part of Tandarust Punjab mission to ensure that vector-borne diseases were checked well in advance.
