UNI Sep 05, 2018
East Godavari Collector Kartikeya Mishra has called for launching a massive awareness campaign to keep the people away from the incidence of seasonal diseases like Dengue and Malaria.
Addressing the officials of Medical and health, Municipalities, Revenue and Panchayat Raj departments through a video conference on the prevalence of Dengue and Malaria cases in the district from the Collectorate here on Monday, he said creation of intensified awareness on both the Dengue and Malaria diseases was required through IEC (information, education and communications).
He has directed them to hold separate meetings for women groups both in rural and urban areas through DRDA and MEPMA during next one week to motivate public on preventive aspects. Mr Mishra has instructed the district medical and health officer to provide IEC materials such as pamphlets, audio and video materials to the municipalities and village panchayats for giving due publicity in addition to the special sanitation drive. He also suggested the officials to organise Kala Jatha programmes to motivate public on the preventive measures.
