DCGI approves special centre to conduct trials for dermatology, plastic surgery, & cosmetics
APN News Oct 30, 2018
The Drug Controller General of India has approved The Esthetics Clinics a chain of dermatology and plastic surgery centres to conduct new drug trials and test new surgery devices, and cosmetics in India.
The move is to help fast-track drug testing and development and enable the launch of more innovative products in dermatology and plastic surgery while also lowering costs for product testing. At present, clinical trials have not been made mandatory for cosmetic products if they have been approved abroad, but with the centres now being available in India, clinicians can carry out trials on cosmetic and aesthetic solutions. Esthetics Clinics has nine centres in India in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Surat, and Delhi. They are well-known for practicing evidence-based medicine and for their global clinical research, publications, and patents.
