Women with systemic lupus erythematosus get pregnant more easily than women with rheumatoid arthritis
Rheumatology Mar 27, 2018
Skorpen CG, et al. - Authours aimed to assess the possible differences in the ability to get pregnant and time to pregnancy (TTP) in women with SLE and RA. They also studied the possible influencing factors. Findings suggested that compared to the women with RA, women with SLE got pregnant more easily and had a substantially shorter median TTP. The factors that could influence the ability to achieve pregnancy and prolong TTP in women with RA were higher maternal age, medication use and low health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in the physical domains. Lower HRQoL scores were noted in women with SLE not achieving pregnancy vs SLE-women achieving pregnancy.
