Wilms tumor screening in diffuse capillary malformation with overgrowth and macrocephalyâcapillary malformation: A retrospective study
Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology Aug 22, 2017
Peterman CM, et al. – This research pursued an investigation of the frequency of Wilms tumor in patients with 2 similar conditions: Diffuse capillary malformation with overgrowth (DCMO) and macrocephalyÂcapillary malformation (M–CM). The observations made were, patients with DCMO were not at increased risk for Wilms tumor. Screening was probably unnecessary in DCMO unless there was an associated hemihypertrophy. There were no cases in the study cohort. However, there were 2 reports of M–CM related to Wilms tumor in the literature.
