Wear analysis of highly cross-linked polyethylene in young and active patients at average 14 years: A concise follow-up of a previous report
Journal of Arthroplasty Sep 18, 2017
Gaudiani MA, et al. - In this work, the researchers explored the wear rates and clinical outcomes of a first-generation, annealed highly cross-linked polyethylene (HXLPE). They concluded that the first-generation annealed HXLPE offered excellent wear and clinical results at 10 to 17 years in young and active patients. In addition, oxidative degradation of an annealed HXLPE did not adversely affect wear and display no other wear-related complications.
