Water fluoridation and dental caries in US children and adolescents

Journal of Dental Research Jun 21, 2018

Slade GD, et al. - Authors assessed the relationship between availability of community water fluoridation (CWF) and dental caries experience in the US child and adolescent population. They noted statistically significant associations when % CWF was modeled as a continuum, and an increase in differences was seen in covariate-adjusted analysis and in sensitivity analysis. For US children a substantial caries-preventive benefit of CWF was confirmed in the findings and this benefit was seen to be most pronounced in primary teeth.
