Dragonas P, et al. - The hypothesized positive relationship between low vitamin D (VitD) serum levels and the severity of periodontal disease in HIV-infected women was gauged in this trial. Findings revealed VitD deficiency to be positively related to higher mean clinical attachment loss (mCAL). An association was found between VitD deficiency and mCAL, with adjustment for race, age, smoking, HIV viral load.
