Vertical ridge gain with various bone augmentation techniques: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Journal of Prosthodontics Feb 12, 2019
Hameed MH, et al. - Researchers analyzed 2322 articles to examine the most efficient alveolar augmentation method for vertical bone gain. They performed meta-analysis using Review Manager for reasoning with quantitative data on mean values of vertical bone gain and bone resorption obtained with different bone augmentation methods. They compared autogenous block graft done to systems like DO, particulate grafting, block plus particulate grafting with titanium mesh, and tent pole technique in healthy adult subjects of age 18 years and older. Random effect model was exercised. They recorded heterogeneity among studies using the I2 statistic. They noticed no significant variations in the bone resorption between the 2 techniques.
