He S, et al. - Researchers, herein, focused on ventilator-associated events (VAEs) in patients who have undergone heart operations. Those patients could easily develop possible infections caused by mechanical ventilation, for which VAE algorithm was recognized as a valid and reliable surveillance. Furthermore, mechanical ventilation-related infections were found to be associated with poor prognosis. The risks and pathogens, investigated herein, will provide potential preventive strategies.
