VEGF-A gene polymorphisms and responses to intravitreal ranibizumab treatment in patients with diabetic macular edema
International Ophthalmology Oct 20, 2017
Tetikoglu M, et al. - A scrutiny was conducted of the connection between vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) gene polymorphisms and the responses to treatment with intravitreal ranibizumab (IVR), in patients with diabetic macular edema (DME). No correlation was noted between the studied VEGF-A single nucleotide variations (SNVs) and the responses to IVR therapy in DME. The VEGF-A rs833069 gene polymorphism, however, depicted a clear link with the severity of diabetic retinopathy.
