Vancomycin dosing in chronic high-flux haemodialysis – A systematic review
International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents | Jan 07, 2018
Hui K, et al. - Researchers here systematically evaluated whether non-weight-based (non-WBD) or weight-based dosing (WBD) of vancomycin led to a higher proportion of patients achieving the pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic target. as per the limited data gained, they concluded that WBD could be preferential as there was a smaller proportion of pre-haemodialysis (pre-HD) concentrations falling below 15mg/L. However, there seemed a necessity for larger well-designed studies of higher quality to provide guidance for vancomycin dosing in the high-flux haemodialysis setting.
