Value of the fT3/fT4 ratio and its combination with the GRACE risk score in predicting the prognosis in euthyroid patients with acute myocardial infarction undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention: A prospective cohort study
BMC Cardiovascular Disorders Sep 14, 2018
Yu T, et al. - For predicting long-term prognosis in euthyroid patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), experts evaluated the prognostic value of the free T3 (fT3)/free T4 (fT4) ratio. For this prospective cohort study 953 euthyroid individuals were assessed with a 1-year follow-up. The fT3/fT4 ratio could independently predict 1-year all-cause mortality in these patients, and in terms of prognostic performance, it was comparable to the GRACE score. Also combining this ratio with the GRACE risk score improved GRACE score prognostic ability (GRACE score vs GRACE score + fT3/fT4 ratio).
