Validation of the Liverpool Elbow Score for evaluation of elbow stiffness
BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders Aug 26, 2018
Sun Z, et al. - Authors sought to find out if Liverpool Elbow Score (LES) could be equally applied to assess joint function in patients with elbow stiffness. Findings suggested that a valid elbow-specific scoring system that can be used to evaluate joint function in patients with elbow stiffness was the LES, however, some items included had some weakness either. Based on total score, patient-answered questionnaire (PAQ), clinical assessment score (CAS), elbow motion capacity (EMC), and elbow-related symptoms (ERS), good-to-excellent validity was demonstrated. Experts observed high responsiveness (ES/SRM) in total score, PAQ, CAS, EMC, and ERS.
