Validation of preoperative predictors of blood pressure response to renal artery stenting

Journal of Vascular Surgery Sep 02, 2017

Modrall JG, et al. – Analysts in this study validated these three predictors (1) requirement for four or more antihypertensive medications (MEDS); (2) preoperative diastolic blood pressure (BP) >90 mm Hg; and (3) preoperative clonidine use, using data from the CORAL Trial. For patients who had failed medical therapy and stenting iontemplated, these clinical predictors seemed to assist clinicians in patient selection. These predictors provided more concrete data for counseling patients on the probability of BP improvement.
