Vaccine-draining lymph nodes of cancer patients for generating anti-cancer antibodies
Journal of Translational Medicine Sep 13, 2017
Shukla GS, et al. - This study coveted an examination of the vaccine draining lymph nodes archived from a clinical study in melanoma patients. In addition, it identified the reaction of B cells to the vaccine peptides. During this research, B cells were successfully recovered and expanded from human cryopreserved vaccine-draining lymph nodes. The data revealed individual B cells that secreted antibodies bounded to cancer vaccine peptides. The ability to reliably generate in vitro the same antibodies observed in the blood of vaccinated patients would promote the research to comprehend mechanisms of human antibody activity. It probably led to therapeutic antibodies.
