Usefulness of the C-reactive protein/albumin ratio for predicting no-reflow in ST-elevation myocardial infarction treated with primary percutaneous coronary intervention
European Journal of Clinical Investigation Apr 27, 2018
Karabag Y, et al. - Authors wanted to ascertain if the C-reactive protein/albumin ratio (CAR) was associated with imperfect reperfusion, which could worsen the prognosis of ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) in patients treated with primary percutaneous coronary intervention (pPCI). Data illustrated that systemic inflammation markers such as white blood cell count (WBC), neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and CAR taken from a blood sample on admission could forecast no-reflow (NR). It was also deduced that CAR had a higher clinical value vs CRP, albumin level, WBC count and NLR in NR prediction.
