Use of topical bromfenac for treating ocular pain and inflammation beyond cataract surgery: A review of published studies
Clinical Ophthalmology Aug 07, 2019
Schechter BA - In this investigation, the researcher provided a comprehensive review of published studies which have assessed the use of bromfenac for the treatment of anterior or posterior ocular inflammatory conditions beyond the postcataract surgery setting. In conjunction with intravitreal anti-vascular endothelial growth factor agents, topical corticosteroids, or topical mast-cell stabilizers, bromfenac was well tolerated. Ocular irritation was the most common adverse event reported. Corneal complications, like melts reported with diclofenac and ketorolac, have not been noted with bromfenac in the studies. A growing body of research suggests the potential usefulness of the topical nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug bromfenac for various ocular disorders.
