Use of emergency contraception among female young adult cancer survivors
Fertility and Sterility Jun 26, 2018
Medica ACO, et al. - Whether or not emergency contraception use in reproductive-aged cancer survivors is higher than in the general U.S. population was investigated. Researchers also evaluated factors associated with its use among survivors. Emergency contraception use among cancer survivors in the Reproductive Window Study on ovarian function after cancer was compared with the general population in the 2006–2010 National Survey for Family Growth. Compared with the general population, female young adult cancer survivors showed significantly higher tendency to use emergency contraception. A higher risk was noted for populations including nonwhite survivors, suggesting differences in family planning care.
