Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology Dec 03, 2020
Ferreira FC, de Oliveira Sathler CSC, Hida IY, et al. - Researchers conducted the study for evaluating patient satisfaction and symptoms after upper eyelid blepharoplasty with plasma technology. The sample consisted of 16 patients submitted to upper eyelid blepharoplasty using plasma technology to treat dermatochalasis. All 16 patients were treated and their survey was completed. In the first week after surgery, physical appearance was the most important factor influencing the quality of life. The most reported symptoms were eyelid edema and itching after 7 and 30 days respectively. According to this observational study, upper plasma blepharoplasty is a minimally invasive treatment with a low effect on life quality. However, the overall satisfaction of the patient is uncertain when considering again less eager to seek treatment and lowered expectations with outcomes over the postoperative period. Symptoms are identified generally in the first week after the procedure.
