Update on postdialysis rebound by a new technology in hemodialysis
Therapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis Aug 16, 2017
Testal AG, et al. – Researchers quantified urea rebound at 30–min postdialysis during sessions using polysulfone filters and high–flow versus online hemodiafiltration, as well as they defined its correlation with body composition measured by bioimpedance by a cross–sectional study with 69 patients (December 2015 to January 2016). With polysulfone dialyzers and low dialysis doses, postdialysis urea rebound remained high. Moreover, online hemodiafiltration could improve postdialysis urea rebound. This study did not find any relation between different body composition compartments and rebound.
