Chan HL, et al. - Researchers evaluated the accuracy of high-resolution, 3-dimensional ultrasound to measure peri-implant tissue dimensions. Peri-implant tissue dimensions can be accurately measured on ultrasound; as shown by the encouraging evidence. In order to evaluate long-term peri-implant tissue stability without concerns of ionizing radiation and image artefacts around implants after clinical trial validations, ultrasound offers potential as a valuable tool.
