Twelve-month outcomes of excisional goniotomy using the Kahook Dual Blade in eyes with angle-closure glaucoma

Dorairaj S, et al. - In this retrospective analysis of existing health records, researchers described clinical results following Kahook Dual Blade (KDB)-assisted goniosynechialysis and excisional goniotomy combined with phacoemulsification in eyes with angle-closure glaucoma and cataract. Data from 42 eyes of 24 individuals were gathered from preoperative, operative and postoperative encounters through 12 months of follow-up. According to this retrospective interventional case series, Combined with KDB-assisted goniosynechialysis and excisional goniotomy, phacoemulsification offers statistically and clinically significant declines in both IOP and the need for angle-closure glaucoma IOP-lowering medicines in eyes, while also enhancing visual acuity.
