Thirty-two Japanese cases of infantile hemangiomas treated with oral propranolol

Kagami S, et al. - Given that infantile hemangiomas undergo rapid growth during early infancy followed by gradual involution and sometimes impair vital functions or cause disfigurement, experts evaluated the Japanese patients with infantile hemangiomas treated with oral propranolol. Results demonstrated the efficacy and safety of oral propranolol at 2 mg/kg per day in Japanese patients with infantile hemangiomas. At week 25, the success rate (complete or nearly complete resolution) was 56%.
