The value of repeat radial-probe endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial biopsy after initial non-diagnostic results in patients with peripheral pulmonary lesions
BMC Pulmonary Medicine Oct 22, 2017
Huang CT, et al. - The utility of repeat radial-probe endobronchial ultrasound (rEBUS)-guided transbronchial biopsy (TBB) in achieving a definitive diagnosis of peripheral pulmonary lesions (PPLs) was assessed in this current study. Findings suggested that performing repeat rEBUS-guided TBB was a reasonable step, if clinically indicated, following an initial non-diagnostic procedure because the diagnostic yield will be at least 50% and the side effect profile is favorable.
