The significance of tumor budding in T1 colorectal carcinoma: The most reliable predictor of lymph node metastasis especially in endoscopically resected T1 colorectal carcinoma
Human Pathology Feb 21, 2018
Lee SJ, et al. - A scrutiny was performed of the clinicopathological features with regard to tumor budding in T1 colorectal carcinoma (CRC) cases and their correlation with lymph node (LN) metastasis. The independent predictive factors for lymph node metastasis included positive resection margins and the absence of adenoma component in 87 cases with first-line endoscopic resection followed by additional surgery. It was inferred that tumor budding was the most reliable LN metastasis predictor in T1 CRC both surgically resected and endoscopic resection specimen.
