The safety and efficacy of daylight photodynamic therapy in the treatment of actinic keratoses: A systematic review and meta-analysis
International Journal of Dermatology Sep 16, 2018
Zhao W, et al. - Researchers carried out a systematic review and meta-analysis to assess the effectiveness and safety of daylight photodynamic therapy (DLPDT) for treating patients with actinic keratoses (AKs) vs conventional photodynamic therapy (CPDT). Relevant randomized controlled trials published before November 2017 were included. In a comparison of DLPDT and CPDT treatments, no significant difference was observed in the lesion response rate and the mean lesion response. DLPDT was associated with higher patient satisfaction and less pain than CPDT. These findings indicated that DLPDT is a safe and effective therapy.
