The relationship between the severity of erectile dysfunction and aortic stiffness
Andrologia Feb 23, 2020
Demirelli E, Karagoz A, Öğreden E, et al. - Researchers sought to ascertain whether there is an association between aortic stiffness and the severity of erectile dysfunction (ED). Individuals with ED were classified into 3 groups according to the International Index of Erectile Function scores. Pulse wave velocity (PWV) and augmentation index measurements determined aortic stiffness. There was no statistical difference between the groups in terms of AIX value. It was reported that mean PWV values were estimated as 7.26, 8.30 and 8.78 in group 1, group 2 and group 3 respectively. Between groups, PWV values were significantly different. The data indicated that PWV values were found to be improved with the increasing severity of erectile dysfunction.
