de Wit J, et al. - A systematic review was performed to provide an overview of the varying prevalences and odds of antibody responses against Staphylococcus (S.) aureus antigens in atopic dermatitis (AD) patients. Compared to healthy controls, AD patients more often showed an IgE antibody response directed against S. aureus superantigens, supporting a role for S. aureus in the AD pathogenesis.
