The impact of overweight in the efficiency and complications of midurethral sling in patients with stress urinary incontinence: A systematic review and meta-analysis
International Urology and Nephrology Jul 20, 2018
Sun Y, et al. - Researchers investigated how overweight can influence the efficiency and complications of midurethral sling in women with stress urinary incontinence (SUI). For this purpose, they analyzed data from all relevant studies comparing the efficiency and complications of normal weight and overweight women with SUI after surgery. A total of 20 studies involving 3829 patients met the inclusion criteria. Higher objective success rate and subjective success rate of the surgery were reported in normal weight patients vs those in overweight patients. In terms of the side effects, no significant difference was observed between the two groups.
