The efficacy of electrical stimulation in treating children with nocturnal enuresis: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Cui H, et al. - Four RCTs comprising of 171 children of the use of electrical stimulation (ES) for the treatment of nocturnal enuresis (NE) were searched by the experts in order to assess the efficiency of ES in treating children with NE. A statistically important variation in the wet nights per week, the number of patients with clinical response, and bladder capacity in the ES group vs the placebo group with the exception of maximum voided volume (MVV) was observed. Hence, for children with NE, a notable advancement in statistics in the wet nights per week, the number of patients with clinical response and bladder capacity in comparison with the placebo group with the exception of MVV was concluded.
