The efficacy of biologic therapy for the management of palmoplantar psoriasis and palmoplantar pustulosis: A systematic review
Dermatology and Therapy Nov 18, 2017
Sanchez IM, et al. - An appraisal was carried out of the efficacy of biologic therapy for the treatment of hyperkeratotic palmoplantar psoriasis (PP), pustular PP, and palmoplantar pustulosis (PPP). It was discovered that the biologic therapy was effective and well-tolerated for the treatment of hyperkeratotic PP. However, data was lacking in terms of the treatment of pustular PP or PPP. Adalimumab, guselkumab, ixekizumab, secukinumab, and ustekinumab illustrated > 80% efficacy for the treatment of hyperkeratotic PP. On the other hand, moderate efficacy was reported by the infliximab and ustekinumab, for the treatment of pustular PP. It was determined that infliximab was the most efficacious treatment for PPP.
