The effect of testing reliability on visual field sensitivity in normal eyes

Ophthalmology Sep 02, 2017

Tan NYQ, et al. – An observational, cross–sectional study is performed to quantitatively ascertain how the reliability indices in standard automated perimetry (SAP) influence the global indices of the visual field (VF) results in nonglaucomatous eyes. They measured the impact of unreliable responses on the mean deviation (MD) and pattern standard deviation (PSD) in SAP. This study may allow clinicians to estimate how VF results are influenced by varying degrees of unreliability, instead of relying on cutoff values for reliability indices.
