The International Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Implants Mar 16, 2018
Ormianer Z, et al. - Authors evaluated if long-term implant survival rates and bone loss in subjects with moderately controlled type 2 diabetes were similar to the rates reported in the nondiabetic population. They found similar outcomes of the implant survival and bone loss levels to reported outcomes in the nondiabetic population. Compared to other insertion methods, less bone loss was displayed by the delayed insertion protocol. Similarly, in implants placed in the posterior region, less bone loss was found.
