Arunyanak SP, et al. - In patients with osseointegrated dental implants of different implant systems, researchers studied the connection between periodontal status and peri-implant diseases using chi-square and logistic regression analysis. During periodontal maintenance visits, they assessed 200 consecutive implant patients using clinical and radiographic examinations. According to this cross-sectional study, patients with a history of chronic periodontitis, particularly those with severe periodontal disease had a 2.5-fold increased peri-implantitis risk.
