The effect of adenomyosis in myometrial invasion and overall survival in endometrial cancer

International Journal of Gynecological Cancer Feb 01, 2018

Erkilinç S, et al. - Researchers evaluated whether adenomyosis had an effect on myometrial tumor invasion, stage of the disease, and survival in endometrial cancer. In this work, adenomyosis was found to have a significant correlation with lower stage in endometrial cancer, suggesting its possible limiting effect on endometrial cancer spread. The presence of adenomyosis was also associated with significantly higher overall survival rate and might be considered as a good prognostic factor for endometrial cancer despite similar rates in disease-free survival and endometrial cancer–related death.
