The association between the socioeconomic status and anxiety-depression comorbidity in patients with psoriasis: A nationwide population-based study
Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology May 08, 2019
Bitan DT, et al. - Researchers performed a nationwide population-based study with patients with psoriasis and age and gender frequency-matched controls (n = 255,862) in order to assess the association between psoriasis and anxiety, depression, and anxiety-depression co-occurrence according to socioeconomic status (SES). Results revealed a likelihood to suffer more severe anxiety and depression among psoriasis patients with low SES. They recommend addressing SES as well the underlying psychiatric disease when making the choice of treatment of psoriasis. In patients with high SES, psoriasis was correlated with only anxiety.
