The ankylosing spondylitis performance index: Reliability and feasibility of an objective test for physical functioning
The Journal of Rheumatology Oct 06, 2020
van Bentum RE, Ibanez Vodnizza SE, de la Fuente MPP, et al. - The present study was conducted to explore the validity, reliability, and feasibility of the Ankylosing Spondylitis Performance Index (ASPI) in another patient population, including both r− and non-radiographic (nr−) axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) patients. Researchers recruited individuals with axSpA from rheumatology clinics in Santiago, Chile. Via a forward-backward procedure, Dutch instructions were translated to Spanish. They enrolled 68 patients (57% male, 52% r-axSpA). The data indicated a high validity and feasibility in an entirely different population, with both r-axSpA and nr-axSpA. The study found excellent interrater and test-retest reliability. The data suggested that the ASPI instructions are now available for Spanish-speaking patients.
