Berkowitz SA, et al. - The authors investigated if the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), which addressed food insecurity, could reduce health care expenditures. The findings shed light on the connection between SNAP enrollment with reduced health care spending among low-income American adults. This data appeared to be consistent across several analytic approaches. Encouraging SNAP enrollment among eligible adults could assist in reducing the health care costs in the United States.
