Parvinian A, et al. - The efficacy of ¹¹C-choline PET/CT was investigated with the intention of detecting parathyroid adenomas in men with prostate cancer. Thirteen men with pathologically- or laboratory-proven parathyroid adenomas were studied. Abnormally elevated serum calcium and parathyroid hormone levels were found in all of these patients. Therefore, it was concluded that ¹¹C-choline PET/CT detects parathyroid adenomas with high specificity.
