Li H, et al. - This retrospective cohort study analyzed the connection between statin use and new-onset diabetes mellitus among patients with hypertension in mainland People’s Republic of China using the Yinzhou regional healthcare database from January 1, 2010, to August 31, 2016. The eligible candidates included subjects aged 30–90 years old without type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Findings shed light on an association between statin use and an increased risk of new-onset diabetes mellitus. A better comprehension was gained of statin and new-onset diabetes mellitus association among hypertensive patients in the real-world setting.
