Starch combined with sucrose provokes greater root dentine demineralization than sucrose alone

Souza SE, et al. - The aim of this study was to determine whether starch combined with sucrose provoked higher root dentine demineralization as compared to sucrose alone. Between the biofilms treated with the combination of starch and sucrose and sucrose alone, microbiological and biochemical findings did not differ. Experts hypothesized that a starch and sucrose combination was more cariogenic for root dentine when compared to sucrose alone.
