sRANKL and its correlation with metabolic syndrome parameters in children
International Journal of Paediatric Dentistry Sep 09, 2018
Serrano-Piña R, et al. - In a pediatric population aged 8-12 years, authors assessed if sRANKL (soluble receptor ligand for nuclear factor) in saliva and serum correlated with the parameters of metabolic syndrome (MS). They enrolled a total of 43 children, with a mean age of 9.7 (±0.8 years) years. Seemingly, the effects of MS on the oral cavity are avoided by good oral hygiene. Statistical difference between neither gender nor body mass index was demonstrated by saliva sRANKL. Findings did not suggest any association of saliva sRANKL with any parameter of MS.
