Soluble (pro)renin receptor in preeclampsia and diabetic pregnancies
Journal of the American Society of Hypertension Aug 29, 2017
Sugulle M, et al. – Researchers postulated that soluble (pro)renin receptor levels are elevated in high risk pregnancies (preeclampsia and diabetes mellitus). In this current study, it was shown that soluble (pro)renin receptor was dysregulated in pregnancies influenced by diabetes mellitus, but not in preeclampsia. No association of changes in circulating soluble (pro)renin receptor to renin/prorenin in pregnancy was noted but possibly it had pathophysiological relevance in diabetic pregnancies in a renin–angiotensin system–independent manner.
