Single-dose bioavailability for prophylactic coverage in patients undergoing dental implant surgery

Aravena PC, et al. - The aim of authors in this prospective study was to quantify amoxicillin plasma levels in the peripheral venous blood and at the surgical implant site in subjects who underwent dental treatment. They noted higher plasma concentrations in a prophylactic dose of amoxicillin than the minimum inhibitory concentration required to prevent the common dental bacteria involved in peri-implantitis and periodontal diseases.
