Short-term outcomes and influencing factors after ankle fracture surgery
The Journal of Foot & Ankle Surgery Aug 29, 2018
Sung KH, et al. - Researchers gauged the factors influencing the early clinical outcomes following the ankle fracture surgery. On multiple regression analysis, they noted an independent association of the total Foot and Ankle Outcome Score (FAOS) to the AO classification and Lauge-Hansen classification. Findings suggested an association of the total AOFAS ankle-hindfoot scale with the articular incongruity. Involvement of the ankle joint fracture affected the early clinical outcomes after ankle fracture surgery rather than the lateral malleolus fracture height. They noted an association of female sex and the presence of postoperative articular incongruity with inferior early clinical outcomes.
